The Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail

Commissioned to commemorate Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, this this 65-mile route with seven stages links scenic local villages and places of interest around the Ribble Valley and Forest of Bowland.
Starting in the bustling town of Whalley, the route is split into seven easily manageable sections and is designed to be walked as a challenging three-day trek, or a more relaxed 5-7 day walking tour. Along the way, the walk visits picture postcard villages like Downham and Slaidburn and also climbs to the summit of iconic Pendle Hill.

The Ribble Valley Jubilee Trail winds its way through many of the area’s most scenic locations: from the rolling pastureland of the Ribble and Hodder valleys to the summit of mighty Pendle Hill – offering outstanding panoramic views stretching for miles around.
And after working up a healthy appetite amid the stunning scenery of the Ribble Valley, what better way to reward your exertions than with a hearty meal at one of the region’s many gastropubs and characterful country inns?
The Valley’s bustling market towns and picturesque villages are home to some of the best gastropubs in Britain, with outstanding eateries like the Spread Eagle at Sawley, the Coach and Horses at Bolton by Bowland and unique Swan with Two Necks at Pendleton winning a string of local and national awards for their food and hospitality.
